2018 Grants & Sponsorships

In 2018 the Community Chest of New Britain & Berlin awarded $265,750 in grants and sponsorships.

Arts for Learning. A $15,000 grant to provide afternoon experiential arts integration programming for New Britain’s Summer Enrichment Experience Program.

Boys and Girls Club of New Britain. A $10,000 grant for the Radio DJ initiative.

Center for Children’s Advocacy. A $10,000 grant to support the Medical-Legal Partnership Project.

Coalition for New Britain’s Youth. A $10,000 grant for their Comprehensive Program.

Coram Deo. A $20,000 grant for the Client Care Program.

Farmington Public Schools. A $10,000 grant to support the Vance Village Elementary School Tutoring Program.

Foodshare. A $15,000 to support the Mobile Foodshare Program.

Friendship Service Center.  A $20,000 grant to support the emergency shelter and community kitchen.

Greater New Britain Teen Pregnancy Prevention. A $12,000 grant to hire a new, part-time academic tutor.

Klingberg Family Centers. A $10,000 grant to support the Positive Parenting Program.

Literacy Volunteers of Central Connecticut.  A $10,000 grant for general operating support.

Mayor’s Workplan to End Homelessness. A $15,000 grant to fund the Work Plan Coordinator position.

New Britain ROOTS. A $15,000 grant for the New Britain Mobile Farmers’ Market to provide healthy food options to residents with low access to such food.
New Britain ROOTS. A $10,000 grant to support the Youth Farm Apprencticeship Program.

New Britain Youth Theater. A $5,000 grant to support their 9th season of performances.

Nutmeg Big Brothers Big Sisters. A $5,000 grant for the Community-Based Mentoring Program.

PAVE New Britain. A $5,000 grant to help strengthen and support New Britain families through building relationships and leadership opportunities.

Prudence Crandall Center. A $20,000 grant for community education and prevention services.

Salvation Army. A $20,000 grant to support the Pathway of Hope Program.

Senior Transportation Services. A $15,000 grant to expand transportation services in New Britain and Berlin.

Siena Learning Center. A $5,000 grant for their Adult Literacy Program.

Community Mental Health Affiliates $500 for their annual “Run for Recovery”

Hoops for the Homeless $750 for their annual game and fundraiser
