VETERANS INC. RECEIVES GRANT FROM THE COMMUNITY CHEST OF NEW BRITAIN AND BERLIN

(Published by Veterans Inc., July 1, 2016) Veterans, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving veterans in need and their families across New England, has been awarded a grant from the Community Chest of New Britain and Berlin.

The $13,412 award will be used to fund one part time Resident Advisor position at the organization’s housing facility in New Britain, Connecticut, which provides case management, supportive services, and housing for up to 18 male veterans.

The Residential Advisor will work to address any needs at the facility, overseeing and assisting with the overall upkeep and maintenance of the facility and responding to emergencies and veteran clients’ needs. In addition, the Residential Advisor will also aid staff with case management work and recordkeeping.

The New Britain, CT facility opened in 2015 after undergoing a complete renovation, transformed from an abandoned building into a supportive housing program made up of eighteen single studio apartments, including two units that are ADA compliant.
